¡Hola! My name is "Señora" Katie Schwalbach and I was hired to teach Spanish at Nicolet in 2018. I have been a Spanish teacher since 2004 and I'm thrilled to be at Nicolet High School! I also teach a course called, "Introduction to Teaching" which is for students considering going into the field of Education. It is a dual-enrollment course through UW-Milwaukee to earn 3 college credits. I am the Global Scholars Advisor here at Nicolet as well. In addition to teaching, I was the JV girl's tennis coach at Nicolet for five years.
My undergraduate degree is from UW-Oshkosh where I also played tennis. I returned to UW-Milwaukee in 2012 to receive my teaching certification. In 2013 I earned a Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction and in 2015 I earned another Master's in Educational Administration - both from Concordia University. I hold the following Wisconsin DPI licenses: Spanish, Principal, Director of Instruction, and Alternative Education.
The best way to reach me throughout the year is by email: catherine.schwalbach@nicolet.us. Additional information, including the course syllabus and policies, can be found via Canvas.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my husband and two children, watch the Packers & Brewers, travel, walk/hike, read and cook.
I look forward to a great year together!
Señora Schwalbach
